Charles Delahaye worked as a specialized natural history draftsman and lithographer attached to the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris. During the mid-19th century, his mastery of complex biological structures made him a top choice for the publisher Roret. He was brought in specifically to sketch highly demanding anatomical details for multi-volume epics like

  • Baron Walckenaer’s Histoire Naturelle des Insectes: Aptères
    and
  • Boisduval & Guenée's Histoire Naturelle des Insectes: Spécies Général des Lépidoptères.
