Gerrit Wartenaar was a Dutch artist and engraver.

Wartenaar was the artist chosen by Pieter Cramer to engrave the illustrations in his book De uitlandsche kapellen voorkomende in de drie waereld-deelen

After Cramer died in 1776, Casper Stoll undertook the work of finishing the publication of Cramer's book, still using illustration by Wartenaaar.

The engravings were printed, aquatinted, and published in Amsterdam by Johannes Baalde, and the staff of his family company Firma S.J.Baalde.
