Horace Knight (1884–1920) was a natural history illustrator with the British Museum, and lived at 16 Dafforne Road, Upper Tooting. His son, Edgar S. Knight, was also an illustrator. Horace Knight retired from the British Museum in 1917 due to illness, at which point he had been producing drawings for over 30 years, working with his brother E.C. Knight at the chromo-lithographers and letter-press printers, West, Newman & Co. of Hatton Garden.

West, Newman & Co. was a prominent British printing and publishing firm active in London during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Based at 54 Hatton Garden, London, the company specialised as chromo-lithographers and letterpress printers.

Horace Knight and West, Newman & Co. were highly regarded for producing academic, scientific, and natural history illustrations, and in particular printing the illustrations published by George Francis Hampson shown in these webpages, including:
